(RESLOVED): Phone Problems 01/15

RESOLVED: Telephone Services appear to be functioning normally, and users should have no difficulty making or receiving calls. Thank you for your patience while ITS worked to resolve these issues. PROBLEM: Phone services are currently unavailable at multiple locations across campus. ITS is investigating this issue to have service restored as soon as possible.

Planned Maintenance

Windows Update Maintenance 01/16

MAINTENANCE: ITS Active Directory systems will be intermittently available while ITS performs planned maintenance from 8AM-12PM ET Saturday, January 16. During this time, ITS will be installing security and critical updates released by Microsoft. The installation of these updates may require a restart of the systems. FSUID Management Maintenance 1/16-1/18

MAINTENANCE: FSUID Management will be unavailable while ITS performs planned maintenance from 5AM ET Saturday January 16 to around 11AM ET Monday January 18. During this time ITS will upgrade OIM.

Recent Status History

MAINTENANCE:  All ITS-hosted Windows systems, excluding ERP, and Active Directory systems will be intermittently available while ITS performs planned maintenance from 4-7AM ET, Thursday, January 14.  During this time, ITS will install security and critical updates released by Microsoft. The installation of these updates may require a restart of the systems. These updates are performed on the Thursdays following the release of Microsoft updates (the second Tuesday of every month).

MAINTENANCE: VoIP at the Tallahassee Campus will be intermittently unavailable while ITS performs planned maintenance from 7:00PM ET Friday, January 15 to around 12:00AM ET Monday, January 18. During this time, ITS will be will be upgrading the University’s Avaya VoIP and messaging platforms.

PROBLEM: The ITS Service Desk is currently unavailable to take calls or chats. ITS is actively working to resolve the issue and have the ITS Service Desk back up and running as soon as possible.

PROBLEM: A software upgrade was made over the Winter Break for myFSUVLab. Some users have reported issues accessing the site after the upgrade.

Please attempt these steps if you are no longer able to access myFSUVLab:

  • Be sure to access the URL https://myfsuvlab.its.fsu.edu.
    • Allow the web server to redirect you automatically.
    • Update any shortcuts to this URL.
  • Clear your browser cache. For more on this, please reference this FAQ.
  • Verify that your account password is not expired.

MAINTENANCE: Telephone services on the FSU Main campus may be intermittently unavailable while ITS performs planned maintenance from 7:00AM ET Monday, December 28 to around 5:00PM ET Monday, December 28. During this time, the R.K. Shaw Building will be without power which may cause lost or disconnected phone calls, call forwarding and voicemail services.

RESOLVED: The ITS Software Store experienced issues which caused users to receive the error message “System error.Bad Request. Please contact ITS Service Desk.” when attempting to place personal orders. ITS has resolved this issue and the ITS Software Store is fully operational. Thank you for your patience.

MAINTENANCE: All ITS Java Custom Apps will remain available while ITS performs planned maintenance from 5:00PM ET Tuesday, December 15 to around 6:00PM ET Tuesday, December 15. During this time, ITS will be implementing a new Java platform for all Java Custom Applications.

MAINTENANCE:  FSU networks will remain available while FSU's Internet provider performs maintenance on the backup Campus Internet connection in Tampa from 11PM ET Monday, December 14 to around 3AM ET Tuesday, December 15. During this time, all traffic should re-route around the outage and no impact to campus is expected.

MAINTENANCE: Cisco AnyConnect be available while ITS performs planned maintenance from 5:00AM ET Thursday, December 10 to around from 6:00AM ET Thursday, December 10. During this time ITS will adding a new version of Cisco AnyConnect Client. Users will receive an update for Cisco AnyConnect software after the maintenance window when establishing a VPN connection.

RESOLVED: All issues for Microsoft Teams are now resolved. The vendor determined that the root cause was the infrastructure responsible for call quality entered a degraded state and resulted in performance operating below acceptable thresholds. Thank you for your patience while the vendor worked to resolve the issues. [12/8/2020 8:45AM ET]


UPDATE: Microsoft Teams is still currently experiencing call quality issues for some users. The vendor continues to investigate and work to have service restored for everyone as soon as possible. [12/7/2020 1:06PM ET]


PROBLEM: Microsoft Teams is currently experiencing call quality issues. Users may experience distorted voice and disconnections during calls and meetings. The vendor is investigating this issue and will have service restored as soon as possible.
